I will dominate 'credible boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters met for the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
